| Samsung DVD FAQ | |
| 1. | When I try and run windows Setup from CD-ROM the machine reports that it cannot find the setup files ? |
| This is only seen on some of our recent machines and is a result of the
processor being too fast for the DVD Drive. What is happening is that the processor is first sending a request to
the DVD-Drive by the BIOS, and then starts another request via the MSCDEX & OAKCD-ROM drivers before the drive has
finished with its first request. The result that the DVD drive is fails the request and gives the 'Cannot find
the setup files" error message. This problem can be easily overcome by Booting from the CD-ROM into a DOS prompt and then running setup. |

| 1. | The DVD keeps ejecting and then goes back in ? |
| You may notice that the DVD does not eject immediately. Depending on what Windows is doing, there may be up to a 20 second delay before the drive receives permission to eject. Please wait - do not press twice. | |

| Philips CDD4401-31 DVD FAQ | |
| 1. | When I try and copy a Audio CD it comes up with 'This drive does not support Audio Extraction' |
| Digital audio extraction is the rate of the information being extracted
from the CD. This error means that the CD-ROM is not fast enough to extract the data for the CD-writer. Some DVD's
don't support this either. You would usually see this error when the customer is recording from CD-CD. The work around
would be to record directly from the hard drive or record using the CD-Writer as the source and destination. Not many CD-ROMs are compatible with digital audio extraction. Here is what Adaptec say: You can record directly from CD-ROM drives that support digital audio extraction? meaning that they can read audio tracks digitally. CD-ROM drives that support digital audio extraction appear as Digital CD-ROMs in the Music Source dialog box; those that do not, appear as Analogue CD-ROMs. To record from the latter, you will need a sound card and an audio cable to capture the songs for recording. See Selecting the Music Source You Want to Record. For some high-speed CD-ROM drives that do support digital audio extraction, you may need to slow down the read speed of the drive to get a clean audio extraction. |
