FAQ |
|
| 1. | My DVD player starts but will not play, or the quality is very poor |
| Both of the DVD player software packages we supply need DirectX 6 to run and are supplied with it, This video card needs DirectX 7 or above, installing the DVD player can overwrite the installed version of DirectX and stop the video card from functioning correctly | |
| 2. | I cannot play any games, not even the ones supplied with my computer |
| This can be caused by DirectX. Most games now run on Direct X and come with it built into the installation process. This is can overwrite the newer version you had previously installed. Reinstall the latest version of DirectX | |
| 3. | TV-OUT is greyed out |
| This card needs to see a 75 ohms AV input. However, not all TVs have this, some TV's also have a switch labelled 'Terminate' next to the AV inputs to turn the 75 ohms off to allow more than one TV to be connected. If you are having this problem, especially with a smaller or portable TV, then try another TV to see if this is a problem, or check for a 'Terminate' switch. | |
| 4. | My Games Stutter |
| 1. Go into the System Control Panel, click on Device Manager, and find your CD/DVD-ROM drive(s) and hard drive(s).
Go into each one, click on Settings and tick DMA. This enables UltraDMA
2. Make sure that Video BIOS shadowing is disabled in your BIOS 3. Make sure that your MX card is not sharing any IRQs with another card - the only device that can have the
same IRQ is the 'IRQ Holder for PCI Steering'. If you find that the MX is sharing an IRQ, try moving the card that
it is sharing the IRQ with to another slot. |
|
| 5. | How do I use TV-out with Windows Me |
|
1.Turn off the system from monitor. 2. Connect the signal cable between TV-OUT of VGA and TV's Video input and power on the TV. (Caution!) Before you turn on your system, you have to be sure the VGA card is setup already and all the cables are connected to prevent from the VGA card getting burned. 3. Click "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "Settings" -> "Advanced" -> "Output Device". Then you can choose "TV" to output signal to TV or choose "Analogue Monitor" to get back Monitor mode. 4. Choose the correct TV format to match local tv format (pal , ntsc.......) (you need to connect signal cable
between VGA and TV before launching "display properties") |
|
| 6. | How do I use TV-out with Windows XP |
|
Please follow these instructions |
|
| 7. | When playing DVD's onto my TV all I get is a black screen. |
|
If you are using WinDVD to view DVD's and the image and you are using the clone view, to watch the DVD on the
TV you will need to specify the TV as the primary display. If you do not restrictions in DirectX will mean that
the WinDVD on the TV will display a black background not the picture. |
