Windows NT Recovery for B
Series
For B110 Please ignore the instructions regarding the Touchscreen.

Insert the Recovery Boot Diskette provided with the
LifeBook |
| 2. |
Enter the BIOS F2 and under the Boot Menu change
the Boot Priority so that FLOPPY DISK (A:)is listed as first device. |
| 3. |
Exit BIOS Saving Changes, Machine will restart and Boot
from the Floppy Drive. |
| 4. |
When prompted type GB for English on the the Menu
to select the Country Variant. |
| 5. |
Type Y to confirm that you want to recover the
system. |
| 6. |
You will get a Menu with the following options,
(1) Install Windows Operating System Only.
(2) to Start Partitioning.
(3) to Start Formatting.
Select Option 2 |
| 7. |
You will get a Menu with the following options,
(n) abort the Partitioning.
(1) to Start Automatic Partitioning.
(2) to Start Cleaning Partition.
(3) to Manual Partition.
Select option 2 to Start Cleaning the Partition. |

System will Re-Start, You will get a message that
says.....
No Save to Disk Partition or file exists on this fixed disk
Save to Disk feature is Disabled
Press F1 to resume.
You will be prompted by this message several times throughout the installation, please when prompted press F1 to
resume all times. |

You will again be prompted to select GB for English
on the the Menu to select the Country Variant. |
| 10. |
You will again be prompted to type Y to confirm
that you want to recover the system. |
| 11. |
You will get a Menu with the following options,
(n) To abort Recovery Process
(1) Install Windows Operating System Only.
(2) to Start Partitioning.
(3) to Start Formatting.
Select option 3 to Start Formatting the Hard Drive |

Type Y that you wish to proceed with the Format. |
| 13. |
The Hard drive will now be Formatted. When the format is
complete you some files will be copied from the floppy disk to the Hard Drive and you will get a message to
Reset BIOS Boot order. Remove the Recovery Boot Diskette from the Floppy Drive. Press Spacebar to continue. |

Enter the BIOS F2 and Restore the Boot Priority to
Hard Drive First. For the PCMCIA CDRom to be recognised by Windows NT you need to reserve IRQ 9 in the Bios.
This is found in the Advanced Menu under PCI Configuration and IRQ Reservation.
Select IRQ 9 from the list and set it to reserved.
Exit the BIOS and Save changes. |

System will now restart and Boot from the HDD,
You will get a message asking you to Insert the system CD.........
This is your Windows CD. |
| 16. |
Insert your Windows CD and follow all on-screen
instructions. |
| 17. |
Once Windows has finished installing the basic application
you will need to install the LifeBook Drivers. To do this you first need to install the CDRom driver so you can
run the Utility CD to load the remainder of the drivers. |

From Windows Control Panel select SCSI Adapters.
Under the drivers tab select Add. |
| 19. |
Select the Have Disk button, and insert the
Floppy disk with the NT CDrom driver on. Select ARCTPI from the device list and install. System will
restart |

You should now have a working CDROM Drive. |
| 21. |
First you will need to install the Latest Windows NT
Service Pack. Once you have inserted the Service Pack CD it will autorun and upgrade the Windows NT. |

When the Service Pack has been fully installed insert the
Utility CD, and it will autorun |
| 23. |
When prompted please type in your structure code, this is
the twelve digit code found on the underside of the LifeBook, this tells the setup what components to install on
your LifeBook.
When selecting which components to install please unselect the Card Executive tick box. Follow the on screen
instructions. |

You need to install the Power Panel application. To do
this select the Install Power Panel Icon on the desktop. |
| 25. |
You will need to upgrade the touchscreen driver from the
one provided on the Utility CD. This is available from the WEB. |
| 26. |
In Control Panel select the Mouse Properties, click on the
general tab. |
| 27. |
Click on the Change button and select Have Disk.
Type in C:\Fujitsu\Drivers\Touchpnl
Highlight Fujitsu Touch Panel (PS/2). Once the driver has loaded please restart. |

You will need to Calibrate the Touchscreen the first time
you use it. To do this run Calwin.Exe. This is located in the C:\Fujitsu\Drivers\Touchpnl directory. |

Boot into the BIOS F2 and Load Setup Defaults.
Once Defaults have been loaded change the following enteries.
