  1. Enable RAID in the BIOS by changing SATA Mode to RAID (Advanced - Peripheral Configuration - ATA Controller Configuration)

2. On the reboot press "Ctrl" + "S" , this will take you into the SiS RAID BIOS Setting Utility (within this utility press "Q" at any time to skip back a menu/stage)

3. Press [R] enter RAID setup utility - press R

4. Press [A] key to create RAID - press A

5. RAID Type: <1>JBOD <2>RAID 0 <3> RAID 1: __

Type the number corresponding to the RAID type you want and press Enter, for example type 3 for RAID 1.

7. RAID 1
Duplicate the SOURCE (disk 1) data to RAID disk? N


Press Y and enter (if you want a complete duplication to disk 2 - you will the get a message that says "please wait .............. write xxx%"

When it is finished you will get:

Mission Complete!! Press any key to continue


 
2. How to add SiS RAID drivers during Windows Installation

  1. Create the SiS SATA F6 disk - the SiSRAID drivers can be found in the RAID folder which is within the Driver folder on the Managed² Driver & Utilities CD/DVD shipped with the PC. You can also get the drivers from the download web site

2. Press F6 when asked whether you want to install additional SCSI or RAID drivers during the OS Installation

3. Press S to specify additional devices - insert the SiS SATA F6 Diskette and press Enter

4. You will be asked to select the adapter you want to install:

Win XP SiS Raid / IDE Controller
Win 2000 SiS Raid / IDE Controller


Highlight the WXP Raid controller and press Enter

5. You will get a message stating:

Windows already has a driver that you can use for WinXP SiS Raid Controller
S = use the driver on the floppy
Enter = use the default Windows driver


Press S to use the driver you created on the floppy disk

6. Press Enter to continue the Windows Installation
 
3. Install the SiS RAID Utility to manage your RAID configuration

  Once Windows and the drivers have been installed, install the SiS RAID Utility which can be found on the Managed2 Drivers & Utilities CD in the RAID folder (within the drivers folder). Please read the SiS RAID Manual for more information on how to delete / recreate a RAID array in the event of a hardware failure..
